Wholesale beading supply sources

These sources are wholesale, (though some have retail divisions) meaning that in order to benefit from wholesale pricing you will need to create a business account with a sales and use tax number from the state in which your business is located. Wholesale suppliers often require a formalized application for an account. Some require you to keep a payment method on file. A few will require minimum order amounts. I don't advise trying to order at wholesale prices from these sources if you cannot meet these requirements.

This venerable business is well-run by knowledgeable staff. Communication is easy and personal, by both email and phone. Their web site is fairly easy to navigate and their pricing is average for the industry. They carry a lot of vintage beads and elements.

This is my go-to source for Toho seed beads. Their inventory of Tohos is astonishing and the listings indicate what's in stock and what's not. Also my go-to for fire polish and pressed beads. They ship quickly from their Idaho location.

Caravan Beads

915 Forest Ave
Portland, Maine 04103
207-761-2503
800-230-8941
What Caravan supplies
Caravan's strength is their monstrous inventory of Miyuki seed beads, including rounds, Delicas, Tilas, bugles, magas, squares, berries, drops, triangles and more. They also stock other kinds of components such as crystals, leather cord, beading thread and much more
My experience
Unmatched customer service, competitive pricing, fast shipping. Their web site is easily navigated though sometimes it runs slowly.  Caravan also has an associated (attached) retail bead store and they host the Museum of Beadwork. You'll also find Caravan in our retail listings as they service non-wholesale buyers as well. This company has been around for a while and their success is well deserved.

Beadsmith/Helby

37 Hayward Avenue
Carteret, NJ 07008
PH: 732-969-5300
FAX: 732-969-5310
What Beadsmith supplies
Pretty much everything, including seed beads by Miyuki, Preciosa, Matsuno and Matubo. Their inventory caters to bead stores with tools, threads, cords, accessories, findings and display/storage products. They carry their own brand of tools, mats, and other essentials. Good selection of crystals.
My experience
The mother of all wholesale suppliers, in my opinion. Shipping is fairly quick and you can establish a credit account with them for payment. Their recently revamped web site is much easier and faster to navigate, and drilling down through the sidebar works well. One-stop shopping for most bead stores and a good source for kit manufacturers. Good pricing with volume breaks.

San Tan Wholesale

16012 S. GILBERT RD
CHANDLER AZ 85225
877-472-6826
Email San Tan at san.tan.whlse@gmail.com
What San Tan supplies
San Tan has an astonishing inventory of Miyuki beads including seed beads in multiple sizes, squares, magas, drop, tilas, hex-cuts , demis and spacers. They also carry a limited selection of Toho three-cuts. They have many different kinds of beading threads.
My experience
San Tan does not have a web site through which you can order though they do keep a Facebook page. Contact them by email or phone to receive an order form. The form will not have color images of the beads they stock, so you will need to know color numbers in advance of ordering. Refer to our Resources page where you will find color cards if you don't know your color's number.

Because leaders in remote locations do not have access to retail bead stores and must often order from multiple sources at great shipping expense, I've included links to products available on Amazon, for ease and cost of shipping. As part of the affiliate program I will be paid a very small stipend each time a beader buys from Amazon using a link from my site.
